ABSENTEE VOTING

TOWN ELECTION - APRIL 14, 2020

Due to the current health crisis, the State of Massachusetts has amended the requirements for absentee voting for upcoming municipal elections.  All registered voters in the Town of Westport may request an absentee ballot to avoid voting in person at the polls on Election Day. 

In order to receive your absentee ballot, you must first request in writing that a ballot be mailed to you.  This can be done by mail, email, or fax.  (See contact info below)  Click one of the links below to connect to a State form to be used for this purpose.  (Please be sure to sign your form before submitting it.)

If you prefer, you can also provide a handwritten note that includes the following information:

1. Your name and Westport address;
2. The address to which you want your ballot mailed;
3. The election date (April 14, 2020);
4. And you MUST SIGN THIS REQUEST.

Although we do not yet have the printed ballots in office, we ask that you submit your request as soon as possible, so we can begin the required steps in order to process your request.

Please note:  Per State Law, the deadline to request an absentee ballot is noon on Monday, April 13^th and the voted ballot MUST be received by our office before the close of the polls (8:00 pm) on April 14^th.  However, we encourage you to request your ballot now and return your ballot as soon as you have voted it, to allow time for these ballots to be processed through the voting units. 

At this time we anticipate that polls WILL be open to the public on voting day between the hours of 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.  Any updates will be made available to the public as soon as we receive them.
