Fiscal 2018 Actual Real Estate Tax Bills and Personal Property Tax Bills

Fiscal 2018 Actual Real Estate and Personal Property tax bills were mailed December 29, 2017. First quarter bills are due on or before February 1, 2018. Second quarter bills are due on or before May 1, 2018.  NO reminder will be sent.  There is no grace period. Payments are considered made when received by the Collector. It now takes two days for a 1st class letter to be delivered, please mail early to ensure on time delivery. Any payment received after the due date is subject to 14% per annum interest.

New property owners may contact the office of the Collector of Taxes at 508-636-1010 or by email  (collector@westport-ma.gov) for a copy if you did not receive one.

2018 Motor Vehicle Excise Bills

Motor Vehicle Excise bills will be mailed on March 16, 2018 and have a due date of Tuesday, April 17, 2018.   The Town Hall will be closed Monday, April 16th.  Taxpayers may make payments at the office, by mail or online.

Motor vehicle excise bills are due 30 days from issue. Any unpaid bill will be subject to a demand bill which will include a $30 demand fee and interest at 12% per annum. It now takes two days for a 1st class letter to be delivered, please mail early to ensure on time delivery.

Any bill needing an abatement (adjustment) due to cancelling a plate or switching plates to a new vehicle is done through the assessors office 508-636-1012.  Your cancelled plate receipt is required if cancelled and a copy of the new registration is needed if plate was switched to another vehicle.  All bills are due by April 17, 2018. Be advised requesting an abatement does not extend the due date for payment. Please plan accordingly.

Boat excise bills were mailed on February 16, 2018 and will be due on or before Tuesday, April 17, 2018. The Town Hall will be closed Monday, April 16th.  Any unpaid bill will be subject to a demand bill which will include a $30 demand fee, a $20 or 20% penalty, and interest at 12% per annum. It now takes two days for a 1st class letter to be delivered, please mail early to ensure on time delivery. 

Credit Card Payments

We are now accepting Credit card payments online only. Be advised there is a 2.95% fee ($1 minimum) that applies for this service. 

Online Payments

Payments may be made online.  Taxpayers may sign up by visiting the town's website at www.westport-ma.com and clicking on Pay Taxes Online.  Follow the instructions from there.
