Dog Licensing

Dog licenses are due each year by April 1st.

Residents are only permitted 3 dogs without an approved application and a Special Permit issued by The Zoning Board. 

• For more information on the process for permitting 4 or more dogs as a resident or a commercial kennel please complete the application on the bottom of the page and contact the Animal Control Officer at (774)264-5129 to set up an inspection. Questions relating to the Special Permit may be directed to Maria Branco at brancom@westport-ma.gov .

As of July 1st there will be a $15.00 late fee imposed for dogs not yet licensed this year.

License Fees:

• Male and Female - $15.00
• Spayed and Neutered - $10.00

Valid Rabies Certificate required.

In order to process by mail you must send a check payable to "Town of Westport" and include Rabies Certificate, spay or neutered certificate, a contact phone number, and a self-addressed, stamped return envelope. Certificate will be returned.

Commercial Kennels:

(All new kennels must complete the application below and request an inspection by the Animal Control Officer)

• 4 Dog Kennel - $50.00
• 5 to 10 Dog Kennel - $75.00
• More Than 10 Dog Kennel - $100.00
