Give us your best shot(s) - please!

To the right are links to slide shows of past collections of images used in our home page. Above is aphoto taken by Lucy Tabit during the July 4, 2007 parade. Why not share your photos?

If you feel good about living in - or visiting - Westport and take photos, then you can share your enthusiasm by sending us your pictures for inclusion on our home page. We put thepictures into a slide show and after they've had a stint ont he home page, we include them in this permanent archive. We'll, of course, credit you with the photos you submit.

Here's what we're looking for:

• Positive images of Westport (and Westporters) that make people feel good when they see them.
• If people are included - and are identifiable, please include permission from them to use the image, unless, of course, they were participating in a public event, such as a parade.
• While most images will be recent, any taken in the past 50 years will do.
• Those submitting images must own them and by submitting them are giving us the right to use them on the town Web site as we see fit.
• Images should be submitted as email attachments in JPEG format.They can be of any reasonable size, but we will reduce all images to fit the same format - 500 pixels wide by 375 deep. You can size and crop your image in advance - but if you don't, please be aware that we will.
• Please include the name of the photographer as you would like it to appear in the credits, as well as the place and date (year is fine) of the image.

We'll make the final choice of what goes on the home page, but we'll try to include as many as possible. We may also make these images available on other pages of the site.

We suggest submitting between 1 and 5 images at a time is bestbut if you have an idea for a complete slide show based on a theme, such as "sailng at Westport Harbor," or "town meeting," or whatever, then up to 30 images is fine. However, when submitting many images, please do so in a series of email, attaching no more than 10 images to a single email.
