Westport Supportive Day Program
The Westport Council on Aging offers a safe, supportive, and structured environment for seniors who are isolated, suffer from memory or personal loss, recovering from illness, or have physical restrictions because of age-related disabilities. This community care program allows elders to remain in their homes while providing much needed respite for caregivers. These services are provided in a non-medical facility.

Isolation and loneliness can lead to depression. Being a member of the SDP stimulates interaction with other people with similar interests. Studies show involvement in this type of program slows the progression of dementia.
Staff and Volunteers
The professional staff of our Supportive Day Program provide a safe and caring atmosphere for participants. Staff are all trained in CPR and emergency procedures. They also participate in trainings from professional organizations like the Alzheimer’s Association, Bristol Elder Services, Massachusetts Councils On Aging , AARP and The Executive Office of Elder Affairs. Regular daily schedules provide structure, memory and brain activities, physical activity, entertainment as well as opportunities to socialize with other participants. Westport residents are given first priority, but others are welcome. The daily charge is $50.00, which includes continental breakfast, nutritious home cooked lunch, and an afternoon snack, plus all the activities you wish to pack into a day. Mondays, Wednesdays, 8:30-2:30 PM and Fridays beginning February 2023.
Transportation is available for an extra charge. Please call the Center at (508) 636-1026 for detailed information about this caring program.
