Westport Local Cultural Council Grant Program (LCC)

The Westport Cultural Council is part of a unique grassroots network of local cultural councils offering grants to support local creative, cultural, historic, and interpretive science programs that address local needs and interests. The MA legislature provided an increase in this year’s MCC budget recognizing the important contribution all 323 local and regional cultural councils to the cities and towns across our Commonwealth. Last year, Westport awarded just over $4,000 in LCC grants. Grant awards range in size as WCC seeks to serve as many strong programs as possible.

Beginning September 1, 2016, Westport Cultural Council grant applications are available to support tickets, operating support, school field trips, afterschool programs and artist residencies, concerts, dance, music as well as history and interpretive science projects that engage the residents of Westport.  Individuals, non-profit organizations, public schools and library and religious groups are eligible to apply for funding that is serves the general public.

The WCC meets the first Wednesday of every month at the Town Hall Annex at 6:15pm.

Please come to the September meeting if you have questions and talk with WCC members about a possible grant submission.

LCC grant applications are available to download from our website or the MA Cultural Council website, and printed copies will be available at Town Hall and the Westport Public Library closer to the date.
